The grade up the hill is still mostly intact and can be walked. Brick steps
intersect it at places. "...just above the bank" is not entuirely
accurate...I don't believe the cars went up this street to the left and then
right behind the bank. I believe they turned left AFTER the bank, between
the third and fourth buildings on the left side beyond the intersection
(where the Ford(?) is coming out), and worked their way over to that grade.
No tracks show going up the hill. But the road up the hill was a state
highway, I see.

This prewar pix was taken after the Westside (technically =
"Webster,Monessen,Belle Vernon,& Fayette City" wires were pulled out. =
The rails remain in Main Street. Not shown are rails up the hill. The =
car started up the hill and swung right just above the bank and did a =
switchback to meet the hilly State Street again at Grant Street . Then =
there on to the end of the line in Arnold City, never having gotten to =
Fayette City. After 1933, Westside Ford buses replicated the route =
(except no switchback necessary).
