Ho, gang!

First of all, the ex-Newarks are all grounded on account of the ongoing
problem with the rear doors mysteriously opening while in motion. First
it was 1079 (Detroit). Then 1078 (San Diego). 1077 (Birmingham) is
waiting for the carpenters to make a new #4 door leaf. But this really
underscores the need to have all 11 cars completely rewired, something
that was never done in Newark over their 47 years of operation.

Next, the Milanos. 1893 is in DTE having its controller and other
electrical apparatus reinstalled following rebuilding from wreck damage
earlier this year. Its ends are repainted, but no numerals have been
applied.

1818, the 2-tone green car, is getting its final mechanical and
electrical work done. But it still needs to have its trucks repainted
and the final welding for the anticlimbers. As you know, 1818 (and 1893,
tove been outfitted with tow bar sockets to make it easier to tow or
push non-Milan cars.

1807 had an accident sometime in September, and it's in the Geneva Body
Shop.

Now for the other PCCs. 1061 (Pacific Electric) is in the Geneva Paint
Shop and should be ready to return to service shortly, following rear
anticlimber and roof repairs. Before it was rear-ended by an LRV a few
months ago, 1061 was the highest-mileage ex-Philly car in the fleet, and
this was its first major repair in 12 years. 1050 (Muni Wings) is in for
bolster repairs. 1063 (Baltimore) had previously had its bolsters
repaired, and is back in service.

737 (Brussels/Zürich) is now getting its wheel bolts repaired.

162 (Muni B-Type) was moved out of DTE and over to Metro Center for
installation of its motors and rebuilding of its trucks. Picture
attached. It still needs some body work and repainting. No estimate on
when this will be completed and its grand inaugural run, open to all
donors of $1000 or more for its restoration, will occur.

A revised F-Line Equipment Status Report will follow.
