I arrange my photos by TrolleyCar Number, Route, Direction, Location,
Date, and Photographer (where that info is Known) but I would also
like to arrange them sequentially so it would be possible to take a ride
on a Route~!~!~!~! I do this in my photo albums starting with the
Inbound//Outbound turning point, run to the outer end, and back inbound
to downtown. Some crosstown routes are in 3 different albums --
77/54 in North, East, and South~!~!~!~!
.
With Digital photos this can be done very nicely -- copy all existing
photos to a separate file (thus leaving the original file in Car-#
order as that is Very Handy at times) and then use a 2-or-3-digit code
for the route followed by a number from 1-500 for outbound and 501-999
for inbound. This way new photos could be *inserted* between
existing ones. Need to devise some kind of numbering system so this
could be done. Por-Ejemplo::: 04010 would be an outbound
4-Troy-Hill car and 04600 would be 4-Troy-Hill Inbound car.
Multiple photos in the same location can use the same number with a
letter trailing - a, b, c and so on.
.
Even this presents its challenges -- using the Interurbans as an
example, what block of numbers for Downtown to SHJ, Overbrook, and then
what divisions all the way to the end. As printed photos are far
fewer in number, I arrange ALL that use the same downtown route
together and then split them when they go to individual routes.
When listing by route number digitally there will be fewer photos even
though on a shared route so demand for numbering will be lower but
because digital photos are far greater in number there will be a balance
or overload form digi sources.
.
This could make for a wonderful Digital Slide Show~!~!~!~!
