2/0 Round trolley wire - 0.365" diameter.
.
3/0 " " " - 0.410" diameter
.
4/0 " " " - 0.460" diameter.
.
Donut know which size PRCo used.
.
.
Also including a cross section of 4/0 *_Grooved_* trolley wire which
was not installed in Pgh until Overhead was strung for Pans. The
Groove allows an obstruction free under run for the Collector (luv
this Fancy Talk) which Is Needed for Pans and greatly improves tracking
of Wheel // Shoe. Note how the groove is On The Top of the wire so
that when an ear is clamped on it doesn't protrude beyond the wire by
much If Any so doesn't obstruct the shoe.
.
Still, as I have said, I experienced as many Dewirements Daily in SF in
the 1970s as I experienced in 20-years living in Pittsburgh -- Pgh
with Round wire, ears which wrap around the wire (tapered on the bottom
to smooth passage of wheel,) armors used around the wire to protect ears
which definitely makes a bump even though approach and exit were
tapered. SF used Shoes on grooved wire except for outer portions of
M line which was still round.
.
Also shown is ear for on grooved wire. While this indicates for shoe
operation only it was similar for other collectors.

I am getting my information from a variety of Ohio Brass Transit
Catalogs, O-B a Major supplier for TrolleyCar, TrolleyCoach, lrv pans
until the 1980s 1990 when it was sold. I don't see anything on
feeder cable by O-B but they have much on rail bonds -- 12 pages of
product and info, testing, splicers, bonds themselves, resistance
levels, etc.
