Subject: [PRCo] List Convention

When Herb was down two weekends ago, we spent some time thinking about the
scheduling for our get-together. It's been sufficiently hectic here that I
didn't get it out to everyone last week as I had hoped, but I don't think
today's too late.
If we can do this meeting so that it begins Thursday morning (November 15),
we gain a huge advantage...PTM is closed to the public that day, and we can
have pretty much free run of the place. I thought that in addition to
riding, everyone would want to see the Blimp Hangar (aka Trolley Display
Building) and some of you would like to see the Archives. All day Thursday
gives us time for all that. In the evening, a slide show on Pittsburgh
interurbans (though not exclusively) would prep the group for Friday.

On Friday, we would do both the Washington and Charleroi routes, and in the
evening view West Penn slides.

On Saturday, we can look at all the West Penn lines west and south of
Uniontown, plus whatever else it is light enough to see. We should have
some sort of "banquet" that evening (it need not be terribly elegant!).

Sunday is reserved for the Pittsburgh LRT system and/or travel.

Please let me know whether you like this concept or not. The other option
is to start Friday, but we will have to work around normal museum
operations.

Thanks,
Ed

P.S. I will be leaving Wednesday afternoon for a week in Reno/Tahoe, and we
will not have a laptop with us. I will be limited to checking email on the
hotels' public computers if and when they are available.
