Fred Schneider would argue that the cars in Philadelphia are no longer PCCs because the trucks under them are a new design built by rebuilder. When I asked Dave Gaul how Transit Research defined a PCC car, he replied, "any car on which we collected royalties or any car which embodied our patents." The rebuilt cars no longer contain any significant patents. They have been so thoroughly rebuilt that I would have trouble believing that they are the same cars on which royalties were paid in the late 1940s, i.e. all that is left is really parts of the floor and roof.
I saw something come through on the Boston cars ... not sure if they are still in service.
Halle in the former East Germany is still running Tatra cars on B-3 trucks. While the trucks were originally built by St. Louis Car Company, TRC owned the patents.
There may still be new articulated cars in the Hague using trucks salvaged from older PCCs.
