This is true - it still happens Every Day
TrolleyCoaches make a U-Turn at Market
and Clayton. They have to take the whole
street to make this right turn. The left
front bumper won't be far from the far curb
when starting the turn and it just clears the wall
when completing the turn. Signal pre-empt
in both directions to stop all traffic.
The MSR TCs which started service on the
33 used wheels for current collectors like
PRCo trolleycars but unlike PRCo the
wheels on MSR had to pivot horizontally
so the bus could reach the curb.
.
TrolleyCars used a switch back here --
double track on both Clayton and Market goes
to single track on both streets and the two merge.
Change ends, set the point, and continue.
Including a couple scans as well.
