Mr.Matsick;
Sounds like a rhetorical question doesn't it. Of course people protested; many such protests had little substance as it seemed more emotional than rational - a few protests were organized but they were bucking the 'trend.' PRC was very much disliked by city govt. and the attitude across the nation was anti-trolley; they were considered obsolete antiques. It has been said that the 'majority' invest wrongly at the 'major turns' -- the 'majority' are buying stock at a bull market high and selling stock at a bear market low. One should not invest against the 'trend' of the market and those protesting cuts were against the prevailing 'trend.' Gives one pause about 'majority' rule doesn't it. We all know that platitude - 'history repeats' but do we learn from history?
Group thoughts are not really important are they; check the literature Mr.Matsick. Even the PCC books make mention of the challenges facing the industry whether political or financial.
