Some time ago, there was a discussion on this list regarding the route =
5-Spring Hill line which was single track from Spring Garden Avenue =
north to the loop at Rhine and Buente Streets.  Attached is a photo I =
took of the passing siding on Itin Street, about midway on the hill =
climbing segment of the line - the photo was taken from Goehring St. =
looking north. The passing siding was known locally as, "The Switch".

The photo was taken on November 2, 1969, about 12 years after route 5 =
trolleys were abandoned.
