But if I chose to use it, they'd have to honor it. The other point is that
they know who pays and who doesn't...they've just chosen to ignore the
latter part in too many cases during the last few years. But they can't
really like me too much, because they never earn interest from me...only
transaction fees, which the merchants pay (and hide in the prices).

That's the point ... the credit is there for those who don't use it and they
know it, i.e. there is no credit.
