If Mr.McGuire is standing at Smith 'looking north' then he is looking toward the siding, isn't this correct. Riding the interurban southbound it crosses Reflectorville trestle, immediately goes into the siding, leaves the siding, negotiates a reverse S curve, coming out of this curve it crosses the road then the passenger stop of Smith, hits the tangent with a right onto the trestle over Saw Mill Run doesn't it.

The 1963 interurban map by Mr.Benedict shows it this way as well although not all the curves are there are they.

Using this map here are the southbound features:

Boggs on double track, Morse on single track, McKinley Park stop / trestle / siding.

Single track to Bon Air siding and stop.

Single track / Edgebrook siding.

Single track, Edgebrook Stop, Reflectorville Trestle, then siding.

Single track (S-turn) highway, Smith Stop, Saw Mill Overpass, then back to double track at Oak.

The siding is behind you, Mark, south of this intersection. What you
are describing is the precise view featured on the cover of PTM's 2007
calendar, at a no-longer-extant intersection along Denise Street. I'd have to
get into the city topos to tell you the name of the cross street.

A simple question for those who know. Now I'm standing at Smith Stop
on the old Overbrook line looking north. There is a road crossing right there
that sort of goes diagonally across the tracks. Was Smith Siding to the
north (the direction I'm looking beyond the curve) or to the south (behind me)? If south, was it immediately after Smith Stop heading south(outbound)?
  Thanks!
