[PRCo] Re: Downtown Tunnels

Attached are three photos - the one that appeared in the newspaper article 
(taken on 2/11/68) and a couple that I took on 6/23/68:
- The view down the wood ramp (and with ladders on the wall at the tunnel) 
was taken from 7th Avenue looking south toward the parking garage on 6th St. 
and Bigelow Blvd.

- The tunnels are not seen in the wide view of the large pit which was taken 
from 7th Avenue looking toward Grant St. and the southwest.

I have a copy of a large 1830 map of downtown Pittsburgh, and the canal 
tunnel under Grant Hill is accurately shown in relationship to streets that 
still exist.
