Here is the latest item that I found on Carle Salley and it is a  
whole lot more encouraging.   Reminds me of the old line by Sam  
Clemens that went, "The rumors of my death are very much  
exaggerated."  The item below in quotes came from my old friend Karl  
Groh, now living in central Florida.

"I've known CHS since 1942 and spoke to him only this morning. He called
from his Allentown home after being discharged from the rehab location
in Allentown telling me about his successful operation and how he is now
getting used to his colostomy bag. He did not mention liver cancer. He
expects full recovery and any   expectation of his early demise can be
dismissed as he surely sounded perfectly normal to me and is as  
upbeat as
ever.

"I promised to phone him at his home this coming Saturday and I will
surely do so.
