Since the entire article dealt only with events after early 1924, and was
published in May 1925, it shouldn't be rocket sciemce to figure out what the
cars were. The first 225 were 5000-5099, 5100-5159 and 5400-5464, while the
second 103 were 3750-3769 and 5200-5282.

By this time it is very safe to say that Pittsburgh Railways was committed
to the single-end car.

Where do you see the magic words single-end? The 200 mentioned in
the first sentence are probably 4200-4399 and are double-end. The
328 are perhaps 4700-4939 with a typo induced by someone who cannot
count. Someone has missed 5000-5099 and 5100-5159. Or we could get
the odd number of 28 cars by adding together the 14 original 3700 series
interurbans to the 12 second-hand Beaver Valley Traction cars
plus a double of converter trailers????? But there were four
converted trailers and they, by the way were also double-end.

You are trying desperately to find evidence to match the conclusion you have
already reached, are you not?
