Hi Derrick

That's an interesting question, with several parts which could make interesting trivia, depending on how interpreted.

Johnstown bought an extra lower front panal for accident damage, which was never used. Acquired by PTM but then made available to PAT - I'm gong to guess late 1970s - due to PAT accident damage. So it never got used in Johnstown, but did got used for intended purpose in Pittsburgh.

As for rest of the Johnstown PCC cars, they were scapped complete, or were they?

Would you say that a Chicago PCC streetcars that was scrapped to provide parts for a CTA rapid transit car was scrapped complete?

Would you say that a Pittsburgh 1700 PCC car that was scrapped to provide parts for a 4000 series car was scrapped complete?

Would you say that a Johnstown PCC car was scrapped to provide trucks, control gear and some other fittings for Brussels PCC cars in 9100 series were scrapped complete?

If you were to interpret the above to imply that the original car was not scrapped complete, but recycled into another PCC type car, then it might be possible to claim that it is still possible to ride a rebodied Johnstown PCC car on routes 39 and 44 in Brussels. They are the high 9100 series PCC cars, and some Johnstown PCC components might still be in public service 60 years after they were introduced in Johnstown.

It all is based on your own personnal interpretation, Derrick, where one draws the line on recycling parts, and how generous one wants to be in linking components between car bodies.

Cheers
John
