Yup.

The universal use of sound of wheels running over jointed rail that  
is unpaved is also somewhat distressing when the car is running on a  
city street on thermite welded rail.   I think on the West Penn strip  
I also heard a car accelerating as it slowed to pick up a passenger.

Herron also had a picture of a PCC stopping before it plowed into a  
truck ahead of it in one of their videos and the sound track was that  
of a conventional car accelerating.
