[PRCo] West Penn 832

There was another story about John Baxter ...

I remember being told and I don't know if I heard it from John
Swindler or from some one else but it went, "If I had looked more
closely at the car first, I wouldn't have run it quite so fast from
Charleroi to Pittsburgh."

Apparently John looked at the wheel profile after the trip was over
and only then discovered that the wheels were quite well worn. The
flanges on West Penn 832 are not round like they are supposed to
be. They are square from much wear.

Like so many cars that our trolley museums purchased, that car was
another example of a vehicle that was on its last legs and there is
simply no way that a company could even consider investing money in a
car that they were about to scrap ... not if you do not wish to be
lynched by the stockholders.
