They were 27 or 28 cents every where else.    Actually, I started  
throwing when quit smoking in the 80s, it paid for my trips to  
Europe.   Today at $5.00 a pack, I could not afford to smoke two  
packs a day (that would be $3,600 a year going up in  
smoke ...probably about $2555 in voluntary taxes.

The National Geographic special on China (May 2008) claims that China  
contains 33 percent of the world's smokers.
