To continue with my earlier thought, one such truck was the Brill
Radiax truck which had three axles. The center axle moved from side
to side and that caused the outer axles to steer. The design dates
back into the early 1890s. It was apparently far less than
satisfactory because all of the cars in Lancaster, Harrisburg and the
properties that were integrated into Valley Railways in Harrisburg's
West Shore that had Radiax trucks were rebuilt with conventional two-
axle trucks.
