They were in better shape than the Overbrook line bridges.

Subject: [PRCo] 42/38 Bridges

Speaking of bridges, what was the actual condition of the various 42/38
bridges and trestles when the line was shut down for rebuilding back in
1984?
Interesting comments I've heard prior to the rebuilding:

During a late 1970s visit, I heard an elderly lady saying to a friend she
didn't trust the bridges on the Mt. Lebanon line anymore. her friend replied
they wouldn't send people across dangerous bridges and that PAT probably
started to rumors to get rid of the streetcars.

But I have also heard people say (prior to Early Action), "Look at the cars
and tracks. Do you really believe the bridges are in any better condition
than that?"

Milwaukee had one long streetcar trestle along Route 10 which was very well
built and maintained. But to this day, people who have ridden across it
swear it swayed as the streetcars crossed it.
