For those into fuel economy, the latest extension of the Calgary light rail system is wind powered. Power is purchased from a wind turbine 'farm'.
There were also some recent comments on housing problems. There is a housing development that I pass west of Campbelltown - one house is nearing completion and the hole has been dug for another foundation. That's just what can be seen from 322. And I got stuck behind a truck carrying concrete block this morning. Sounds like the start of another house. Suspect housing is selling if priced at 2004 prices - not selling if priced at 2006 prices. And therein lies the problem. The widow down the street just dropped her home price to a more realistic level. Suspect we will soon see a "sold" sign, just like three houses recently on street behind us.
Gas is at $2.84 today for those who insisted last summer that we would be at $5 by the end of the year. I can steer this back towards PA transit by adding that my bus has retained - so far - about half the additional passengers from last summer.
Cheers
John
