Thanks Rich,

for including Tom's memoirs on your website.

One of the things I'm finding that people visiting trolley museums do
not fathom is life in towns. Our visitors come from suburbs in
automobiles. Living in cities and shopping in stores that fronted
on streets is very much an alien concept today, just the same a money
containers riding through the store on ropes and pulleys or in
pneumatic tubes to the cashier's office. I think if I ever get a
chance to run 1138 on an Easter Sunday, I think I'll be tempted to
roll up 66 Wilkensburg via Forbes. Why, because that weekday only
rush hour route did run on All Saints Day and on Easter just to haul
the mourners to Homewood Cemetery to put flowers on the graves of the
departed, another thing we've forgotten about urban life.
