I didn't bother checking the 1965 map, but have a look at the 1976 edition. The line begins abruptly at latitude 40º10' and runs south almost to Marianna. The map's legend identifies it as "abandoned railroad - right-of-way retained".

Can't remember whether the whole route is marked on modern topo maps, or just short stretches of it.
