While all the transit authorities are comparing the current month to
some month that is lower to make things look good ... Portland, as my
buddy Bruce says, has the nerve to tell the truth.
But, even slipping a few percentage points, 133,000 weekday riders on
MAX makes it a big league light rail operation. It is something I
would recommend you all visit. They do things right. I have my
feelings why but I would rather only discuss them with other people
who have been there and studied it.
