Sometimes the solution is to ignore the obvious, and for "us", the obvious might be to try to connect route 68 with the Duquesne-Mckeesport area.  "My" generation probably tends to connect Forbes Ave. with only the 64 and 67 routes.

 

I would not be at all surprised if you find some of those row homes still standing along Forbes.  An aerial view on MSN seems to indicate that not everything from the past has been demolished.  Good luck, and thank you for being the person 'on the scene'.
