We know that Diamond St west of Smithfield was offset from that to the
east causing traffic to make an "S" through this intersection. The enclosed
photo suggests the same where Diamond crossed Grant but much more
modest. I honestly don't remember this; does this seem correct to you?
Interesting to note that many motorists drive with the left wheels to the left
of the left rail in the track. Also interesting to note that the grease stains
are most prevalent where braking and possibly stopped. Grease stains
are much more modest in auto only lanes suggesting that trolleys
contribute most of the grease in the track lanes.
