88 Transit and Suburban were not in business in the early '50s. They were a
late '50s result of Greyhound's decision to get out of the local service
business that they had acquired in 1955 through the purchase of Blue Ridge
from Potomac Edison.

Hi Ed

The low 100 series were ex. West Penn and seemed to be assigned to route
through Bridgeville. The 600-700s were ex Harmony and seemed to be
concentrated in New Kensington. There were additional used buses in the
Community fleet, but these were most noticeable.

The 310 was ex. Pittsburgh Railways acquired 1958/59, probably for either
60/68 conversion or West End conversion. It was not renumbered. PAT
apparently took the PRC fleet, and renumbered the independent operators
around the PRC fleet numbers. Most of the independents were two digit fleet
numbers.

But PAT/PRC 310 was a TDH 4512 which was a 35 foot bus. The 310 in the
picture has one less window between front and center door. So it might be a
TDH 3612 or 3714. I'm suspecting Beaver Valley Motor Coach, 88 Transit,
Lincoln Coach or Suburban Lines. Also suspect we can get our hands on some
fleet information for these operators this weekend.

Cheers

John
