I had that happen on a cruise ship one night, but the purser's office was
closed and we put into the home port the next morning, so I toted a
pocketful of quarters around until I could find a bank.  It was a nuisance.

It always amazes me how many people in wheelchairs and on oxygen are in
casinos pumping money into slot machines. I've seen people on walkers
positioned between two slot machines play both machines at the same time.

I am not into gaming, but I sometimes find myself at business meetings in
casino hotels. My  favorite casino story is from a trip to Atlantic City in
2002.  I was staying at Bally's for five days, and every day I had to walk
through the casino at least four times to get to/from my room and the
meetings.  In all that time I never had the urge to drop a single quarter in
a slot machine.

After I checked out, I had to tote my luggage through the casino to the taxi
stand. I realized that I had a quarter in my pocket, so I dropped it in a
slot machine, the wheels spun, bells rang, and it paid off 100:1.  I
immediately put the $25 in coins in a paper cup and took it to the cashier
to convert into paper money.  Then I left the casino and got a taxi to the
airport.
