An article on Dan Rooney in the January 27 New York Times says that he
played quarterback at North Catholic High School in 1949-50.  Google
shows me the high school (established 1939) at 1400 Troy Hill Road.  The
Rooney family home is somewhere northwest of the current Heinz Field.
Is that distance close enough to walk or did he take the streetcar?

You do not want to even go to the extent sports controls our schools,
their 
budgets, and even time schedules.  I enjoy a good game, but I think it
was 
put best quite a few years ago when someone went to a fight and a hockey

game broke out.
