[PRCo] Re: The Stillers

Three years ago I saw footage of the parade and kept wishing I had gone.
This year I was determined to not miss it. I was one of the 300 or 350
thousand waving my towel like a little kid. My wife was there too but she
didn't have a towel and we couldn't find a vantage point where she could see
much. But she went for me - and to drive home. It was an experience, a
happening, that I felt was worth the trip. Everyone was in a good mood and,
except for the guy trying to rob a bank, there was no trouble at all.

The Trip? We did it in one day from Downingtown, about 25 miles west of
Philly. We headed out at 6:30 with the hope of parking at the Swissville
park-n-ride but it was full (of course). We were able to find a spot in the
municipal lot in Swissville and hopped the bus on the East Busway. That got
us into town in about 35 minutes with no traffic or parking worries. And it
only cost 4 dollars round trip for my wife. After the parade, and watching a
hawk catch a pigeon on Wood Street, we lucked out and caught a bus right
away on Liberty Ave. This worked out to be a quick easy way into and out of
Sixburgh with the least amount of driving. I know they should have trolleys
on the busway but it sure beats fighting traffic.

It was worth the trip but I'll pass next year when we get the 7th Heaven.
