Mr.Brashear;
Let's extend that from 'party' to the very basic:
'Individual.' After all, anyone regardless of title
is an individual first and the local papers are full
of articles on individual 'tax cheats' aren't they.
Actually it was a 'slip-of-the-fingers' to type in
a particular 'party' as I intended to use that 4-letter
word 'politician' which covers all regardless of
party. I am far from the first to observe:
"If one wishes to find a crook look in Wash-DC."
Otherwise, I tend to be 'a-political' to coin a word.
Considering the above as well as 'polls (if they can
be believed)' where 55-60% support is the norm, I
do not understand this rallying behind one 'individual'
who 'will' change the world. There are far too many
other 'individuals' to be brought on board if meaningful
change is to be made and polls and/or history and prophecy
indicate that just won't happen. There is so much
wasted energy during election campaigns isn't there.
'Change' starts 'within' the 'individual' and then spreads
doesn't it. With nearly 8-decades observing humanity
it seems the 'individual' looks to the leader to make
change while the 'individual' vows to continue living
as he pleases while claiming the same as his
'constitutional right.'
While surfing I stopped at Bill Moyer's program on PBS
and a guest 'historian' claimed that we are still
grappling with some of the same problems almost 150-years
after President Lincoln. This begs the question:
When will real meaningful change begin?
I personally don't have 'the' answer; neither does any
other 'individual' nor 'group' within, without, or on
any side of government. I have lived through many different
'government administrations' and have enjoyed my life.
Life is not without its problems but I still find it
enjoyable. I could not tell you much about any of the
administrations and don't find discussions on such
interesting. I 'try' to live life on a daily basis by
the Golden Rule; it's not unusual to have someone 'spit
in my face' for such but then that 'individual' hurts self
more as 'what one sows one also reaps' -- or 'what goes
around comes around.' That individual sets himself up
for problems doesn't he.
