To my view, the chins and ears are different in the two photos.
Mr. Shank's car is a restored 1931 Ford, according to the note in the 1974
book.

Mr.Lybarger;
The man sitting on the running board looks like the Mr.Snyder in the photo
with Mr.Siebert but heavier. This photo 'suggests' he is Mr.Snyder's
'father' thus the man with Mr.Siebert is possibly in the rumble seat.
I don't know my autos; guess such were still around in the 1930s when 'the'
Mr.Snyder was younger. (This statement begs for unsolicited comments
doesn't it--VBG)
