Pittsburgh Railways route cards claim the service to Donora from
Pittsburgh ended March 22, 1925, a month later than you claim in this
e-mail.
When John Baxter did that article for Electric Railroads (ERA) he
apparently missed some of the route cards. You need to look at the
cards for routes 1101, 1102, 1104 and 1106 to get the entire picture
of the Pittsburgh - Charleroi line. Service from Allenport to
Lucyville (later named Roscoe) opened not later than December 19,
1906 and on June 20, 1910 route 1101 was abandoned and 1106
(Pittsburgh -Charleroi) was extended over that line. John missed the
card for 1101.
When I get the hole mess done (and after I can find someone at PTM
who wants to spend six months editing it) I can put it on a CD.
