There is a thread going on right on on the East Penn Traction Club
web site on modeling light rail vehicles. One guy, who makes models
is trying to tell us there is no market for light rail cars, and he
is being barraged with e-mails from people telling him there is a
market and all sorts of links to European companies who also make them.
Someone posted the link below on the East Penn site.
At any rate, Wikipedia, the on line encyclopedia which has all sorts
of wierd stuff has all sorts of streetcar entries too.
If you think the Pittsburgh low-floor cars were low ... take a look
at this link to the newest cars in Vienna. The floor is only 7
inches off the ground. That's not much more than the length of
those Ticonderoga #2 pencils they used to dole out to us in
school. How do they do it? Like an automobile with separate
axles. The wheels are in boxes under the seats. Very tiny motors.

By the way guys ... you want to know about a meet that overwhelmed
everyone? Yesterday there were two meets going on at once at the new
Philadelphia convention center along route 422 at Oaks, west of King
of Prussia and east of Phoenixville. Traffic was so bad that the
state police closed the exits off route 422 leading to the convention
center so that you could not go there. Talk about great planning.
There were two conventions at once ... a railroad show and a gun
show. Who are the craziest people? Railfans with guns maybe?
