So? So what? Green paint and leather seats are also history.
Screw the fans who think everything should be retro to the day it
should be built. This makes a great example of in between 5326 and
a PCC.
The pretty woodwork and wood seats, according to Harold Cox, was done
because Mitten wanted a car that could be cleaned out with a garden
hose. Cox claims that Mitten was paranoid after the influenza
epidemic as perhaps many people were with a disease that killed three
times as many people as World War I. We can show that with
5326. We don't need two cars for that purpose. It is equally
important that we have a vehicle to show how PTC attempted to make
the public think some of their old hulks were modern in the late
1930s. Leather seats, shiny paint, wings around the headlights ...
and don't forget the pay-enter / pay leave sign the needs to hang in
the right front window. I may have one of those if you do not.

I also do not have a problem with 1138 in 1950s dress unless you know
someone who wants to buy all that special seat fabric that they had
originally and then provide an endowment to keep it clean.
