That's the place.  I believe it's properly "Garden," but both have been used
interchangeably.  I was in the place once to see the circus while I was in
elementary school.

Isn't this the general area once occupied by the Duquesne Gardens - where
the old Pittsburgh Hornets once played hockey?  They were a "farm team" of
the Detroit Redwings as I remember.  The Gardens used an enormous ammonia
compressor which was steam powered.  The large flywheel could then be seen
from the Neville Avenue side when the doors were open.  Sometimea s hint of
ammonia could be smelled.

It's always amusing to note that the government compelled the private
company to completely remove its tracks, but did not make similar demands
once the transit operator was the government.

Hi Folks,
I'm sorry I can't find the email, but I know one of you mentioned that
Ellsworth Avenue was currently scraped, for re-paving, and that the
streetcar tracks are evident.   Yes, indeed.   Attached are some photos I
took on Sunday.     While walking along Ellsworth, it was interesting to see
the looks on  a couple young (maybe twenty-something) 10-speed bikers' faces
as they rode by.   They stopped, pointed at the tracks that curved from
Ellsworth onto Neville.  I couldn't hear their conversation, except for the
word "rails."     I walked across to them -perhaps to give a little transit
history - but they peddled away before they saw me.

The photo I have labeled, "ellsworth looking twd layover area,"    I believe
this is where the cars were stored by Pittsburgh Railways for rush hours,
for baseball crowds leaving Forbes Field.
