There were some Pirate teams that lost in the finals.  It was either the 1925 or 1927 Pirates that lost to the Yankees.  Pirates won the other one. (but not sure of dates) 

 

And what about the first World Series in 1903, the same year trolley service was extended to what is now PTM?  (how about that for bringing this thread back to list topic (:>)
