I would imagine that the track sketches would show when the curves were
installed. Unfortunately, I've been to the library once today and won't get
back until after April 12, so there will be a delay.

Subject: [PRCo] Smithfield & Carson
There had been a discussion here about configuration of this intersection;
it grew with time didn't it.
In the following URL the turn from north to east exists but not west to
south; the two turns to and from W.Carson do not exist:
http://www.davesrailpix.com/pitts/htm/kjpgh310.htm
All the turns are evident in the photo of 3804 to Riverview enclosed.
If such is true and the dates are reliable, the turns to and from W.Carson
were added some time after June-12-1947 weren't they. It wasn't many years
until the 23 was shortened, apparently worked with some 3750s from South
Hills, and the 32 was abandoned.
The track connections were probably never properly amortized were they.
This also suggests that ridership was still high post-war; it also
underscores enthusiasm for upgrading the interurban equipment with PCCs.
Within 6-years the interurbans would be shortened as well as the 23; the 32
would be abandoned.
