Does anyone know what method of fare collection Port Authority uses on
the light rail system currently?

Beginning May 15, Cleveland RTA will begin Proof of Payment (POP) on
the Red Line Rapid Transit. POP is now used on the Silver Line BRT and
will be extended to the light rail lines and the bus lines later this
year. RTA management stated money would be saved by laying-off the
Booth Attendants. There are around 20 Booth Attendants who probably
make around 32,000.00 per year. A savings of 640,000.00 annually to
RTA. Management forgot to mention, however, that they have hired
around 40 Fare Collection Officers (certified police officers) at
$48,000.00 each. Interesting.

I just wondered how it was done in Pittsburgh these days.
