I don't disagree with your conclusion, but this part of
your argument doesn't hold water. It is very easy for
a web page containing the words "chicago", "black",
and "friday" to not actually refer to Black Friday.
For example, any article reporting on an event in Chicago
dated Friday that includes the word "black" will be a hit.

Searching for

  chicago "black friday"

also turns up plenty of hits, though, which does support your conclusion.

Mr.Dunfield;

You are both correct and incorrect aren't you. You have to
be assuming that I infer that 'all' 9,040,000 references
are to 'Black Friday' shopping in Chicago. All here have
the experience to know that this isn't true don't we.
On the other hand more than enough evidence was provided
to indicate that 'Black Friday' is quite a common term in
Chicago isn't it. Your comments are nit-picking to a
penultimate extreme aren't they. Good Grief.
