Subject: [PRCo] A Sign of the Times
While this is not related to trolleys, I thought some might be interested.
My wife and I recently spent a week driving about South Florida.
In one of the hotels' brochure racks, where you normally expect
to learn about regional attractions and shopping "opportunities,"
I was more than a little surprised to find a full-color, 8-page
brochure extolling the virtues of dealing with a pawn shop
company at one of its nine branches.
I suppose it meets a need.

Mr.Lybarger;
Within the last few days I saw this on network TV as well;
even upscale jewelers are purchasing former sales. One
was a $24,000.00 diamond wedding ring; the need for
cash apparently cuts across a much broader part of society
than in the past. I would expect such 'news' to hit the air waves
first but the fact that brochures are currently circulated
underscores how the official version of this 'recession' is
sugar coated doesn't it.
