I've known Rich since we were freshmen in college almost a half century ago. His humor is fantastic. The man is the only doctor I know who would make a great stand up comic.
One of the lines he used that I shall forever remember was, "You don't fall off the planet because the earth sucks."
There was another ... "Eating a heart healthy diet may not make you live longer but it will certainly make up feel like you are living longer." I think at that point Rich may have suggested we go out for a "grease fix" at the local steak shop. Sorry Rich, we cannot go to Speeds. It's not the same today. They no longer have the meat laying in the onions and grease for hours.
His wife was telling me last night how he scared all the kids by walking out of the woods with blood dripping off him. I think Suz didn't believe he really told his friends the truth! The man has guts. He walked a mile with a broken shoulder and then drove himself to the E. R. Of course, who but a doctor would know what you can get away with and what you can't!
