I was in Jax once and had time to kill between trains (coming from the northeast and connecting to the Sunset to go to Yuma, Ariz.). I decided to ride your skyway. Somewhere around the St. Johns River bridge, the whole thing shut down, leaving all pax suspended in the air wondering what to do. The delay was long enough that some pax were beginning to show early signs of panic, wanting to spring doors, etc. I and some of the other cooler heads helped calm them down and eventually, the whole thing started up again and took the pax where they were going, except that I noted that some of those who had started to panic alighted at the next stop. I had adequate time, and made the circuit. However, had I been on a tight schedule, I would not have been amused.
Does this sort of thing happen with any regularity?
Dwight

Thanks for sharing!  That would have been a great transit system for Pittsburgh, living in Jacksonville
we have a WABCO type system that ties the Southside (South Bank) system with Downtown (North Bank) and is neat to ride on, can be found on Youtube under Jacksonville Skyway Express.
Thanks for sharing this good article

PS just learned of some sad news from my old hometown of Donora, once having 6 public school
buildings and 3 Catholic Schools, the remaining school (old Donora High) now a grade school
center will be closed, kids moved to Carroll Twp School and the old school building will be torn
down.   That is almost as bad when I learned they were taking the street cars out of Donora and
then out of the Mon Valley.  No Streetcars and No Schools!  TERRIBLE!!!!!
