Several of us were there at the end of July as we traced the line from East
Liberty to Oakmont.  The ties under the pavement in the street (Lamagna 
Drive) leading to the
old viaduct between Verona and Oakmont are rotting away.  The barrier
protecting people from going over the edge is built with girder rail as
supports.  Allegheny River Boulevard used to bear right to the old viaduct
as you headed north.  The picture Matthew attached was at the north end of
the viaduct after the rails came back down to the street.
