Dennis - maybe I am getting old, sounds like "fun", but I still haven't read what the purpose of dropping your drawers is?    Sorry to be and old toot!    If I lived in the burgh I probably would join in! LOL

Several of you have asked why the "No Pants" ride.  This is from their
website:

Improv Everywhere (the sponsor) causes scenes of chaos and joy in public
places. Created in August of 2001 by Charlie Todd, Improv Everywhere has
executed over 100 missions involving tens of thousands of undercover agents.
The group is based in New York City.

This is from the Pittsburgh event:  (Not advocating-just reporting)

(Now the details about our very own T Station No Pants Ride here in
Pittsburgh!)

All are invited to participate in the 9th Annual No Pants Subway Ride. The
event will take place at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 10. Everything you need
to know is in this post. Please read it carefully!

REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION:

1) Willing to take pants off on subway
2) Able to keep a straight face about it

**THIS IS A PARTICIPATORY EVENT. DO NOT SHOW UP UNLESS YOU PLAN TO TAKE YOUR
PANTS OFF.**

DETAILS

When: Sunday, January 10 at 3:00 PM, Sharp! (Over by around 5:30 or before)
Where: The Wood Street T Station
Bring: A backpack and appropriate fare (enough to ride through to the end of
Zone 1 and back again: $2.75 - $3.00...not entirely sure with the new fare
changes but don't bring ANY LESS than $2.75).
Wear: Normal winter clothes (hat, gloves, etc)

We are meeting up at the Wood Street T Station at 2:00PM. We do not know
what the turn out will look like for this first year so we're keeping things
somewhat flexible. If turn out is low, we will be riding the 42C to
Washington Junction, which signifies the end of Zone 1 and then back to the
Wood Street T Station. If enough people show up we will be taking over the
47S to Washington Junction as well. If turn out is ridiculous, we will
stagger groups on both lines. A new train comes by for one of the two trains
practically every 5 minutes. We will then voluntarily divide ourselves into
2 equal groups and board each of the 2 lines.

When we're organized, we will all head down to the platform together. Do not
talk to others once your on the platform or on the train. No one knows each
other. (Or at least we're pretending we don't!) We will wait for a DART
train to arrive, and all board the cars.

Sit in the car as you normally would. Read a magazine or whatever you would
normally do. If you want to sit in small groups with your friends, that's
okay. Just pretend that you don't know any of the other pantless people on
the train.

At some random point after you board the train, stand up and take your pants
off and put them in your backpack. If you'd like to use a briefcase, purse,
grocery bag, or whatever instead of a backpack that's fine too. You are
responsible for your own pants and they should be with you at all times. If
anyone asks you why you've removed your pants, make something up. You can
say something like you were "getting uncomfortable", or you "got too hot"
(or something along those lines.)

You must wear underwear! While there is nothing in Pennsylvania penal code
about being in public in your underwear, it is illegal to expose your
naughty bits. You can wear fun underwear if you like, but nothing that
screams out "I wore this because I'm doing a silly stunt." Wear two pairs of
underwear if it makes you feel more comfortable. Don't wear a thong or
anything else that might offend people. Our aim is to make people laugh, not
piss them off.

Just for clarification, here are the laws regarding public nudity here in
Pennsylvania:

§ 3127. Indecent exposure.

(a) Offense defined.--A person commits indecent exposure if that person
exposes his or her genitals in any public place or in any place where there
are present other persons under circumstances in which he or she knows or
should know that this conduct is likely to offend, affront or alarm.

(b) Grading.--If the person knows or should have known that any of the
persons present are less than 16 years of age, indecent exposure under
subsection (a) is a misdemeanor of the first degree. Otherwise, indecent
exposure under subsection (a) is a misdemeanor of the second degree.

WEAR UNDERWEAR! WEAR TWO PAIRS IF YOU FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE AND PLEASE, NO
THONGS! THE POINT HERE IS TO MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH, NOT ANGER OR OFFEND THEM!
