Mr.Long;
Stitch the 2-screen shots into one in a photo editor,
then print the page. Just make sure there is a little
overlap to allow for the stitch. I believe Mr.Barry said
he would try this. 'Almost' seamless isn't it.

Fred

After I sent the last message, I remembered there is another, and simpler, way
to do this. If one has Instant Print Screen on one's computer, as I do on this
one, it will print out. The only problem is that only what appears on the
monitor will print, so in the case of, for example, the article on the Homeville
line conversion, it is necessary to make two prints and paste them together
manually. Still easier and quicker than copying from microfilm.

Another way of doing this, also time consuming but less so than scribing the
whole articles, would be for someone to go to whatever library is the library
of record for the Press and print out the microfilm record of the article.
There is usually a charge for this but it tends to be moderate. The job has
been made much easier by the research which pinpoints the date of the article.
Much harder to go thru each paper day by day to find this stuff! (Been there,
done that, got the calluses on my butt).

    Barry:

A complete file of these in the PTM library would be useful. However,
since they have been blocked to prevent anyone from printing them, each one
would have to be transcribed the hard way ... every single letter would have to
be typed again.

Have you considered doing that? Or is it something someone else (moi?)
should undertake?
