We know it is Memorial Day 1899 because we have original news clippings
describing the opening of Kennywood Park.  Charles Jacques's book on the
subject also states it correctly.  But the 1898 date persists, and I'm
betting the park itself tells people that date because they don't really
know better. Perhaps I should send the new owners a copy of the clippings.
Maybe when I get time?
