Subject: [PRCo] Brookline Map

This is from the Brookline Community website. I'd no idea that the part of Brookline Blvd. that leads off of West Liberty Avenue, was originally a road separate from the car line. The site explains:
In 1910 the streetcar line was double-tracked and extended into East Brookline. The Boulevard was paved and the West Liberty Development Corporation turned Brookline from a rural farming community into a residential neighborhood. As the community grew and prospered, the boulevard soon was in need of modernization. In 1935, traffic patterns were changed from Pioneer Avenue to West Liberty Avenue. The lower portion of the roadway was blocked off and renamed Bodkin Street. The boulevard was re-routed onto the trolley right-of-way, which was widened and paved for both vehicular and rail traffic.

Mr.Barry;

This photo shows Brookline Jct in 1909; it doesn't show whether or not the
tracks to Brookline are prw:

Note the single track south on WLiberty; this shows on your map as well.
The map suggests double track again beside A.Hoyer.
I wonder about the solid line on Brookline which turns 'south' on Pioneer;
this same style is located on other streets. The carlines seem to have
dots to note their location.  I don't remember seeing a key to these maps;
maybe Mr.Brashear can point to one.

The next URL points to the Blvd doesn't it; dual overhead is visible but not
the tracks nor any suggestion as to prw or paving:

This search yields some photos of the rebuilding in 1935:

As photos apparently are not labeled with identical 'key' words, here is another
search showing more photos of the 1935 rebuild:
http://tinyurl.com/BrooklineBlvd-2

This is a nice photo of the rebuilding; please note the 'extra' hangers in
the span which 'suggests' a realignment for a shoofly during construction
or the original path of the line before widening and rebuilding - or other?
