While I have not read this book, in the past I have found anything by Maury Klein to be a good read.  Thanks for the tip, I'll see about acquiring this one.

  I've just finished The Power Makers by Maury Klein (Bloomsbury Press, 2008).
  It's an excellent read on the development of the electric power industry,
  and is more comprehensive than Jill Jonnes's Empires of Light.
   
  Highly recommended to anyone interested in this aspect of the trolley
  business.  I'm putting my copy in the PTM Library.
