I'd suggest it was the corner where the two companies' track met in
Duquesne, but don't have a shred of real evidence to that effect. Maybe it
was in McKeesport, but not east of there. They would have had to change
ends in Irwin, which would have been interesting I the midst of traffic.
The new bridge at Duquesne opened in 1928. The Lincoln Way connection to
Fifth Avenue came out in 1924, so they would have had to use the Versailles
Avenue route into McKeesport.
These are points that demonstrate how important it is to find a volunteer to
read the McKeesport Daily News!

Subject: [PRCo] WP freight
This may be an interesting trivia question for some. From From 1928-1938 a
daily WP freight starts at Connellsville and travel thru Duquesne via Irwin
and McKeesport and on to Pgh. All pubs say the small freight 548 was used
in this service because:
of tight clearance at a corner -- PERC original pub of tight clearances at
corners -- PRMA updated pub one corner in Duquesne is tight according to
the CERA book.
Maps don't reveal this location; is it known? Is it possible someone
familiar with the area could 'hazard a possibility?'
This begs the question of routing as well. The 68 shared WP track through
Duquesne into McKeesport. This track was realigned at (Date?) to cross
the Monongahela. Before this realignment it seems the freights entered
McKeesport from the East along 5th to Sinclair then up Jerome; is this
correct?
Trust 'all' had blessed Thanksgiving.
